The
Medical Center at Orlando, Florida, had limited acreage
to expand on, yet they needed additional space for their
accounting, finance and business departments. By moving
these departments outside of the main hospital building,
they would gain the space to expand the treatment areas
that they needed.
MedBuild’s turnkey proposal was selected as it expeditiously and economically satisfied their needs. The flexible layout, coupled with a factory-built modular elevator, created a very aesthetically pleasing and productive work area. The modular building was installed faster than a similar area could have been conventionally constructed and MedBuild’s modular building eliminated the need for the medical center to lease off site offices.
The
exterior of the building is a concrete-composite board
that carries a 50-year warranty against moisture and insect
penetration. A decorative mansard was site constructed
to maintain a “conventional” look. All exterior windows
and glass doors are bronze-tinted with bronze metal frames
to enhance the aesthetic qualities. A continuous-rubber
EPDM roof system was installed to increase the overall
operating efficiency.
The flexible interior layout allowed each department to create its own identity. A cosmetic finish was economically applied to the interior drywall. The color choices for each department unified the walls, lighting, suspended drop-in tile ceiling and carpeting.
