An imaginative approach

Alamo Rent-A-Car

Alamo Modular Unit

Alamo Rent A Car is the nation's third-largest car rental company, with over 165,000 cars at 111 locations in 41 states. When an opportunity for a new location at or near a major airport presents itself, Alamo has to move quickly to establish a rental facility that offers an attractive and businesslike setting.

When a site at the Albuquerque International Airport became available, Alamo took an imaginative approach and called on ModSpace.

ModSpace can quickly respond to customer needs with a cost-effective solution for a satellite location, and provided Alamo with a custom building in less than 90 days. The new customer service center has one office, a large lobby area with service counters, an employee lounge, two restrooms equipped for the handicapped and a storage area. The building, totaling 1,400 square feet, has gray stucco siding.

Alamo's customer service center is conveniently located near the Albuquerque airport, providing easy access for customers anxious to be on their way. A parking area surrounds the modular service center, with attractive walkways and ramps leading to the building. The office is finished in gray, both inside and outside, matching the corporate colors of Alamo. A climate controlled environment makes the building comfortable as well as serviceable.

ModSpace buildings are built to withstand the rigors of commercial business. Inside there are 8-foot ceilings, with maximum insulation in the walls, roof and floor. Systems include diffused fluorescent lighting and 40,000 BTUs of ducted air conditioners and heat in each building section. In the lobby area and restrooms, vinyl tile facilitates clean-up, and 26-oz. commercial carpeting in the employee areas adds additional comfort. The exterior is finished in gray stucco siding with large 16-square foot bronze sliding thermopane windows and a double commercial storefront glass door. The roof system is a white membrane EPDM roofing to conserve energy.

The cost of conventional buildings can be staggering as is the possibility of lengthy delays and unexpected problems. Modular buildings cost less than new construction and offer savings in time. This enabled Alamo to quickly get into business, and offer a functional and comfortable service center for customers in New Mexico. Alamo Rent A Car's innovative use of a ModSpace building provided attractive and efficient space quickly.
