Each episode of ABC TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition features a home that is totally rebuilt for a deserving family - in record time.
The show (first airing October 8, 2006) profiles the Hawkins family of Tennessee, who lost their home in a tornado on April 7, 2006. During the tornado, Amy Hawkins was injured and lost the use of her legs when the family's house collapsed on her - she was using her body to protect her two sons. Of course, the use of ModSpace's mobile offices as project management space is nothing new. But in this case, the chance to donate the unit and be a part of such a fantastic project was a very different opportunity for the ModSpace team. "When we got the request from our customer, we immediately knew it was something we wanted to be a part of," said Nashville ModSpace Sales Representative Anna Faye Nelson. The request was based on the excellent working relationship the businesses have, and the quality of the ModSpace product and service. "We use ModSpace whenever we open a new community because they provide great temporary sales centers for us," said Bryan Harwell, Capitol Homes Sales and Marketing Manager, "the ModSpace Team has always been very helpful in the set-up of our new community sales centers. For this build, we needed a temporary building for the project managers and team leaders to meet and discuss the plans and changes on a daily basis. ModSpace was the logical choice for this type of temporary office." On a Saturday morning in August, the Hawkins family received the "Good morning Hawkins Family!" call - a bullhorn call - from show host Ty Pennington. Not long after, ModSpace was there to deliver and install the modular unit on behalf of its customer. According to ModSpace's Nashville Branch Manager Sherrie Fraser, "people in Nashville are so touched by all that is going on with the show and this family - they are fighting to be the ones who get to donate to this project and the family. I'm so glad we got to be a part of it - it has been an amazing experience."

ModSpace
partnered with Capitol Homes of Tennessee this summer
to help make a family's dream of a new home come
true. Capitol Homes asked ModSpace to provide a
mobile project management office during the week-
long build.
"What
a great experience this was for our whole team. We
all had to come together with not only our own employees,
but with our suppliers, subcontractors, and volunteers
to work towards something helpful and beautiful for
a family in need. When the bus moved and we could
see the expressions on Amy and Jarrod's faces, all
the hard work, blood, and sweat was worth it," Bryan
added.
