ModSpace worked with Turner Construction to design and install a cutting-edge modular marketing center for a new development project along the Boston, Massachusetts waterfront. The Fan Pier Marketing Center features a glass curtain wall giving visitors an unobstructed view of the surrounding waterfront area - creating a sales center environment with the "wow" factor. The Fan Pier Marketing Center is being used to market a large development project along the Boston waterfront, so the customer wanted much of the surrounding area to be visible from the building. With this in mind, a glass curtain wall was implemented into the design. Configured using (4) 10' x 50' modules, two of the building modules have a 6' extension to support a canopy over the entrance to the building. The customer also envisions the roof of this building to one day be a deck looking out at the new development, so the roof was designed to support such a load. The entire project consists of: One(1) 11' x 56'; One (1) 10' x 56'; Two(2) 10' x 50' and the total length of the job was only 84 days to completion.

Working
with the manufacturer using a "build-it-together"
technology, the entire structure was assembled as
one building in the factory to ensure everything
would fit together and lineup properly on site.
This was necessary for such a building since the
glass curtain wall and other finishes were completed
once the building was set on the site. Careful coordination
between all involved parties was necessary to make
everything fit together perfectly, and there were
no problems with any dimensions. Having the entire
structure built together, and not on assembly line,
allowed the customer to make changes up until the
building was shipped.
