School Sings the Praises of ModSpace
When the Northridge School District in Johnstown, OH closed two of the district's three elementary schools due to deteriorating building conditions, it forced a restructuring for the new school year. The school district needed to act quickly to add more space to accommodate the students.
The ModSpace Columbus team put together a classroom solution for the school board that was designed to meet their requirements, all under one roof, on time and on budget. Turnkey services, building availability and superior expertise in classroom projects made ModSpace the right choice for this project.
The result was a bright, safe and clean new space for students in time for fall classes. The superintendent, principal and students couldn't be more proud of their new school. Robin Elliott, Principal of the Intermediate School, is helping the children adjust to their new school environment, students and teachers by singing a special song every morning - the theme song from NBC's 'The Biggest Loser' - demonstrating their pride in their school. The children also show their pride by displaying a wall of stars in one of the hallways for everyone to see. Each child had a star with things that make them feel proud of themselves on it.. The
restructuring plan moved kindergartners through
third-graders to the district's primary elementary
school and fourth- and fifth-graders into modular
classrooms for the Intermediate School alongside
the middle school. 
The
building consists of 22 modules offering 17,000
square feet of various sized classrooms, a large
multi-purpose room to serve as lunchroom and meeting
space, restrooms for both students and faculty and
large corridors to accommodate lockers. In addition
to classroom space, this building will also house
the District offices for the Superintendent and
Treasurer.
