St.
Jude's Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida was
experiencing a growing enrollment in their day care
program and subsequently outgrew their existing facility.
With a limited budget and the immediate need for space,
the church needed assistance with financing their
space solution. An existing pavilion on the site created
an obstacle, requiring a solution that would work
within the site's constraints. Church officials also
wanted the modular's exterior to conform to the aesthetics
of the existing buildings.
ModSpace designed a custom L-shape structure from
a combination of nine modules which surrounded the
existing pavilion and made efficient use of the space
available. The 4,500 square feet building comfortably
holds 80 active children and their teachers, with
four classrooms, a kitchen, five bathrooms, and bright
play areas. The stucco exterior matches the existing
buildings, maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Benefits
ModSpace worked with St. Jude's to provide
a turnkey solution in only six weeks, easing the burden
of project details for the church.
Flexibility of modular construction
enabled ModSpace to design a unique structure that
met all of the church's space requirements, while
working around site obstacles.
A five year lease with option to buy
at the end of each year represented the best financial
option within the church's budget.
The interior was customized to meet
children's needs, including bathrooms with child size
toilets and sinks, base cabinetry equipped with child
proof locks, and panic hardware.
